1987 – 1990: Apprenticeship in Communication Technology and Abitur (A-levels) at the professional school of the German Telecom in Magdeburg, Germany.

1998: Dipl.-Ing. Degree in Computer Engineering (Equivalent to BS and MSc), Technical University of Berlin, Germany.

2004: Ph. D. Educational Science, Free University of Berlin. Thesis: “Regional School development in Berlin and Brandenburg 1920-1995. A Socio-historical Exploration of the Relations between Reforms of School Systems and Regional Inequalities of Educational Participation.”.

2008: Various qualifications in the maritime field, including STCW A-VI/1, A-VI/2, A-VI/3 and GOC / GMDSS.

2013: Further training in the maintenance of radar systems from S3 / SAM Electronics.

2013: Authorization for works at high-voltage systems up to 36kV.

2013: Qualification as a laser safety officer according to OStrV.

2020: Certificate of competency as a ship’s electrician, STCW III/7.

1998 – 2003: University Lecturer and Research Assistant, Free University of Berlin, Institute of Historical Educational Science.

2004: Independent Lecturer, Berlin school of high-skilled children of the “Hochbegabtenförderung e.V.”. Lectures on controller programming and robot construction.

2005 – 2006: University Lecturer and Research Assistant, Department of Philosophy, Unit for Technical Education, University of Rostock.

since 2006: Freelance work in the field of IT consulting / IT project planning / IT training. Projects with IIITM-K Trivandrum (Kerala/India), Art and Media School Frieda 23 (Rostock) and LOHRO e.V. (Rostock), among others.

2022 – 2023: Professional training to become an electrical engineering ship officer at the Wismar University of Applied Sciences, Maritime Affairs, Plant Engineering and Logistics Department of the Faculty of Engineering.

2023: Deployment at the shipyard of the sea rescue ship “Sea Punk 1”.

2023 – 2024: Volunteer work as an electrical engineer for various sea rescue NGOs and planning of an energy and performance monitoring system for festival installations.
